New Book Challenges for 2014

Not sure if any of my fellow book bloggers are doing these challenges.
I’m currently working on work related goals and one of those goals is to work on my Reader’s Advisory Skills.

Challenge #1: The Dewey Challenge 2014

Read one nonfiction book from each of the Dewey Classifications. (10 total)

000 – General works, Computer science and Information

100 – Philosophy and psychology

200 – Religion

300 – Social sciences

400 – Language

500 – Science

600 – Technology

700 – Arts & recreation

800 – Literature

900 – History & geography

If anyone would like to join me in this venture, The guidelines are pretty basic.

1.     Any book in each classification.

2.     Length does not matter

3.     Books can overlap any other challenges

Read at least one book from each genres listed: (15 Total)

Adrenaline Genres: 

1. Adventure
2. Romantic Suspense
3. Suspense
4. Thrillers

Emotions Genres: 

1. Gentle Reads
2. Horror
3. Romance
4. Women's Fiction

Intellect Genres:

1. Literary Fiction
2. Mysteries
3. Psychological Suspense
4. Science Fiction

Landscape Genres:

1. Fantasy
2. Historical Fiction
3. Westerns
